These terms govern your use of chocolateui.com, the registry and MCP server at api.chocolateui.com, the chocolate-ui CLI, and the blocks and components we publish (together, "Chocolate UI"). By using Chocolate UI or buying a license you agree to them.
Accounts
You can browse and use free items without an account. Signing in with Google or GitHub creates an account tied to that email address. Keep your license key and API tokens private. You are responsible for activity that uses them.
Licenses
Free items are licensed under the MIT License. You may use them for anything, including commercial work.
Pro items are licensed, not sold. A Pro license lets you use, modify and ship Pro items in unlimited personal and commercial projects, including client work and products you sell, for as long as you like.
You may not redistribute Pro source code on its own, publish it in a public repository as a reusable library, resell it, or use it to build a competing component library, template marketplace or UI kit. Shipping it inside a finished website or application is fine.
Each license belongs to one person and may be activated on up to 5 machines. Teams need one license per developer. Full details are on the Licensing page.
Payment and refunds
Pro is a one-time payment of $79 (plus any applicable tax) for lifetime access to current and future Pro items. There is no subscription. Payments are processed by Polar, our merchant of record, under Polar's own terms.
If Chocolate UI is not right for you, email hello@chocolateui.com within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. A refund revokes the license, and you must stop using Pro items you downloaded with it.
Acceptable use
- Do not share your license key or tokens publicly or with people who have not bought a license.
- Do not scrape, bulk-download or mirror the registry, or bypass the Pro gate or rate limits.
- Do not overload the API or MCP server, or use it to build a competing service.
- Do not use Chocolate UI for anything unlawful.
MCP server and AI tools
The MCP server lets AI assistants search, read and assemble Chocolate UI items on your behalf. Code an assistant generates from our items is covered by the same license as the items themselves. You are responsible for reviewing generated code before you ship it.
Ownership
We keep all rights to Chocolate UI, its name, website and design, except the rights we grant in these terms. Code you write and products you build with Chocolate UI are yours.
Availability and changes
We work to keep the site, registry and MCP server available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change, add or remove items and features. Items you have already installed in your projects keep working, because they live in your code.
Disclaimer
Chocolate UI is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. You are responsible for testing items in your own projects, including for accessibility and security requirements that apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Termination
You can stop using Chocolate UI at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or revoke a license that is used in breach of these terms, for example if a key is shared publicly. Sections on ownership, disclaimers and liability survive termination.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and notify signed-in users by email of material changes. Continuing to use Chocolate UI after that means you accept the new terms. Questions go to hello@chocolateui.com. See also our Privacy Policy.
